Surveillance: Hostile Employee Observation
Often, employers encounter circumstances in which an employee is suspended or terminated for just cause, but the employee has made direct or indirect threats toward other employees. Threats may be directed at multiple targets, ranging from upper management to employees in the workplace. Providing personal security for a large number of people is costly, and does not guarantee there will be no physical confrontation. A more effective approach is to place the hostile employee under surveillance to observe and evaluate his/her behavior, and coordinate with law enforcement in the event a quick response is necessary. If the hostile employee begins to travel toward the work facility, or toward the residence of the threatened employee, the NASS surveillance team will intervene and coordinate with law enforcement to take appropriate action.

After establishing a consistent pattern of behavior on the employee, NASS can recommend a much safer course of action to the employer, and will continue to assist you through the disciplinary process. Acting as your corporate security consultants, our experienced investigators are available to conduct interviews with the hostile employee and or witnesses. We are even available to place the employee on suspension or serve them with termination notice on your behalf. By minimizing local management's involvement with the hostile employee, we attempt to shift the focus of any existing anger, from management to our staff members.
